The information about how to use the pot was far better presented than that in the booklet that accompanied my Instant Cookpot.But, while I appreciated the simplicity of only needing 5 ingredients, many of those ingredients are not readily available in South Africa where I live. But it is a book that I shall refer to often.
A lot of the recipes you could make without the instant pot. Not quite what I expected

One star because its required .. but this cookbook has nothing in it I would eat so i wasted my money .. guess i will stick to buying in the store so i can see recipies b4 i buy .. a wee bit disappointed
I am a new instapot user, I am still on the learning curve here. I have read couple of cookbooks recently trying to find a good methods that I can incorporate into my own recipes.The first thing I liked about this book is , it has a slightly different approach than the other books. Most of the other books play on One pot cooking, sauté this then add that and pressure cook.This book is different, the author is not afraid to pressure cook first and sauté later in few of the recipes.I understand it is not something most of the home chefs want to hear , but I appreciate that the author upholds flavor and texture in higher regard than convenience alone. The recipes might look few compared to other cookbooks but they are unique enough.Now the reason for knocking out two stars; there are some minor disturbances in the recipes, but I am not concerned about them. Although I am not convinced with one of the recipes I came across, Popcorn! The recipe calls for sauté first and pressure cook later. I always thought pressure cooking needs water, this recipe doesn’t use any! I use stove top pressure cooker on daily basis , my first rule is to add enough water ( at least 1 cup)! I have made stove top popcorns often to say , this recipe might actually be perfect for Ninja Foodie which has an airfryer. I would never use pressure cook option without water.I suggest caution.Apart from the popcorn recipe, I would say , this is a unique cookbook with easy and tasty recipes.I received an free Advance reader copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I love my instant pot. I also love to scour the internet for recipes as well. I've skimmed though a number of IP cookbooks here on Amazon and my number 1 complaint is that the recipes have way too much going on. I'm a busy mom with 3 kids so simple is better for me. That's where this book comes in handy. I don't have the time to search for random specialty ingredients and this book fits that bill perfectly. The only reason I took 2 stars away is that some of the recipes seem to be missing some steps. Like, they were too simple. I'll update this review as I try more of the recipes, but for now, I like this very much.
This instant pot reipe book was very easy to follow most ingredients you already have on hand but there is detailed list of the ingredients you will need for the recipes to come out a per the book. Which are pretty darn good. Our favorite was the barbq pulled pork. The Tuna fish was so easy and wow was so much better then the can brand. WE made the Creamy Tomatoe Steak Soup wow we loved that I added cream at the end and my finicky Boys had no way of knowing that tomatoes were used. The mexican Turkey Tacos were really good. I only gave it 4 stars due to another Great cookBook but no pictures. My kids and myself also love to see what the finished product is supposed to look like. But everything we made came out superb and looked and tasted wonderful.
