About the Author

Joe Sledge is a North Carolina native who grew up on the Outer Banks, "about a mile from where the Wright Brothers flew." While attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he developed a love of exploration, road trips and finding hidden bits of history. After graduation, he traveled extensively, crossing the country twice, and traveling from Mexico to Canada. Joe lived and married in Monterey, California, where he worked as a special education teacher. After living in California for 10 years, he and his wife moved back to North Carolina. With many journeys under his belt, Joe has documented his travels and curiosities. His first book is Did You See That? A GPS Guide to North Carolina's Out of the Ordinary Attractions. The book stemmed from the use of technology to help investigate and find unknown and difficult to locate spots throughout the state. With the advent of aerial imaging such as Google Earth and GPS units for cars, finding these out of the way oddities have been made much easier. This guy knows NC and he should, he's a native and knows the state from one end of 64 to the other! Check out the book and put it to good use and get out there and tour the Tarheel! Joe Sledge is a pirate and a poet...buy this book!

Very interesting book and well written by Mr. Sledge. A lot of odd little stories that even native carolinians may not know about.

Great books that is very well put together of unique and strange things in NC. Something we will take with us on any trip to see things along our path.

Ok "Excellent Collection of North Carolina Attractions and Legends!" Must read for people who want to explore NC way off the beaten path

I liked the book but I wish it would have shown more of what to do than what it did. I like to see more visual steps and that's how I learn. The book was very colorful and the wreaths were pretty.

Easy to follow instructions. Not very informative on ideas for customizing your own wreath. Also, the craft stores have the rings with pipe cleaners already attached and twice the size and these pose a problem since they are larger than what the instructions call for.

Good Ideas, Good book,Suggestion: If you just want to learn how to make the wreaths, don't get Both books. Just get either "Deco Mesh Wreaths" or "Learn to Make Deco Mesh Wreaths". If you are looking for other ideas or designs, then for the price , it's not to bad to pick up both.

Deco mesh is a very unique product. It is easy to use and manipulate. As a crafter, the end product is important and with deco mesh you will be very pleased. Also, there are a number of colors you can choose from and different widths as well. It may take you a little while to get use to how it works, but you will be glad to know. Just go in and check what some crafters are charging for wreaths they have made with this. You will be glad to know that now you are familiar with the same product. Give it a try and just add one more thing to your crafting resume.

This book was just what I was looking for. I seen my first deco mesh wreath in a crafting store and I wanted to see the ins and out of making it. Fantastic ideas and easy to follow.

I liked this, has a little for all the holidays plus more. Since I like to decorate but I'm not an arts and craft kind of person; this was very simple for me to do. I recommend this book.

I was disappointed in this book. I thought it was going to give tutorials on how to make the wreaths. But it is only pictures of different wreaths. No instructions!!!!

Wouldn't recommend do to the fact you can get the same instructions online for free. Ended up using the online instructions instead of the book.
